Sam Turk was saved at the age of eight after an evening message at a little independent Baptist church mission in Bandung, Indonesia. He surrendered to the call to preach at the age of 20 at a revival meeting in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and graduated from Bible-Way Baptist Institute in Hamilton, OH, in 2005. During that same time he was working with veteran missionary and Bible translator, Dr. Louis A. Turk, between 1998 and 2015 as a missionary to Indonesia and as a Bible translation evangelist (promoting the need to accurately translate the Bible into foreign languages, mainly Bahasa Indonesia), while both in the U.S. and in Indonesia, at different times throughout those dates. 

 

In May of 2015, Midway Village Baptist Church called him as their pastor following the leadership of Eddie Chambers, who had served as their pastor for 45 years. The church has continued to move forward under the leadership of Pastor Turk.

 

Pastor Turk and his wife, Kiy, were married on October 25, 2003. God has blessed them with a son & daughter-in-law and GRAND daughter (Asa & his wife, Hailie and their daughter, Leslie) and three daughters (Hannah, Kylie, and Felicity). All serving the Lord here at Midway Village Baptist Church.
